Any way to remove this pop-up from happening. (I don't care about it) Like some reg edit cause I don't need 3 of them to pop up each time I need to plug in my phone(That's just the way my phone is, it shows up as 2 separate drives. 1 a backup manager installer, other phone storage, USB debugging on, Huawei)

2021.12.03 21:59 coolreese Lighting / shadows suddenly broken

Lighting / shadows suddenly broken I've played this game on-and-off for some time. This is the first time I've run into this issue.
This issue is persistent in actual gameplay - the character creator menu is simply the best place for me to exemplify this issue. Basically, if I'm indoors, all character models look like this. Outdoors, in sunlight, everything seems to be fine. I've tried googling this for about an hour now but can't seem to find anyone with this exact problem or an answer that applies to my issue. No, the gamma slider is not the issue (I actually have the gamma set slightly higher than default in this image. Sliding the gamma to maximum brightness does not fix this issue, but just washes everything out in a grey-ish film).
I've adjusting all in-game graphic settings between min and max. It's not an HDR issue as my rig does not support it. It's not an RTX issue, my rig does not support this either. I have updated the game and also ran the "Verify / Repair" multiple times. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game. My graphics driver has been updated to the latest driver as of 12/1.
I'll reiterate, I've put 20-ish hours into this game and this is only just now an issue. Any help anyone can provide is appreciated. My specs below:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core
Radeon RX 5800
16 gig DDR RAM

2021.12.03 21:59 BrainTraumaParty Why Take Home Assignments During the Interview Process Are Bullshit - And Why You Should Run From Companies That Make You Do Them

Okay. So, first, let's start with some context on why I'm writing this, then who I am, and then the meat of the thread.
As for the reason I' writing this, there was a thread the other day that was talking about how they should handle their take home assignment. I was having a rough day, and said to run from companies that make you do take home assignments as part of the process -- with no context. That adds nothing to the community, it was a dick comment, and I rightfully got downvoted. But I then promised to do a follow up thread, so here we are.
So who am I? A nobody PM, but like most of you, I have had a very unique background that has gotten me where I am. I have held virtually every role a team can have: I've been a dev, data analyst, business analyst, project manager, product manager, program manager and my last role before my current was VP of program management at a fortune 500. My current role was me leaving my job at the fintech company to help a series C startup. We are now past series D and are officially on the list of unicorns with a billion plus evaluation.
Those roles have been in various positions as contractor / consultant / and full time employee across various industries: tech, fintech, consulted for energy, professional sports, travel, and rental car industries. I say all this to let you know that I've been in a ton of different environments, on a lot of varied projects, and worked with a ton of different kinds of leaders during that time.
Now, with all that out of the way, the controversial statement in the title: why you should run from companies that make you do take home assignments.
So it isn't lost on me that some of the biggest, most prestigious organizations do this (think FAANG), but many smaller organizations have adopted these as "best practices" to their hiring as well. Now, while I can see a reason FAANG does this (sheer volume of candidates) -- I still don't think it's a good practice, even more so for those less reputable companies.
First reason: the precedent this sets Here's a stark reality that employers haven't come to grips yet, they need us more than we need them. The amount of competition for solid PMs is extremely high, adding take home work as a "gate" to being hired both slows down the process, dissuades the best PMs in the first place, and for those that come in via recruitment are effectively told "you must earn your way in for the privilege of working here". I think, especially in the climate we're in, this should be the other way around; i.e. they should be privileged to have you working there.
Whether you're recruited or submit a cold application, you're selected from dozens if not hundreds of possible candidates. I think there is a reason for that, and having to prove your "worthiness" after having been selected is redundant and stupid.
There are many ways employers can validate your skills, and there are far easier ways to evaluate your fit into an organization.
Second reason: it slows things down for no value Recruiting is hard, I get it. Finding the right person is challenging, and it's really easy for me to sit here and type all this out not having to deal with the massive volume that recruiters (especially at massive orgs like FAANG) need to sift through. But let's be honest, this practice is stood up to attempt to dissuade candidates by making it harder or more intimidating, and, to not have to refine recruitment and interviewing practices.
I have been in meetings with C-level executives where they actually have talked about "making the applicant submission process a challenge" to "ensure we are getting people who actually want to be here". Well guess what? It turns out that when this was implemented, not only did we get less applicants (as designed), but the five out of five people that were hired at this particular client in this way were all fired within a year. Why? Well it turns out that not doing proper vetting of someone, and gamifying your applicant funnel forces people to lie, plagiarize, and just do desperate things to bullshit you into thinking they're qualified or a good fit, when they're not.
It's sort of like buying a car that looks brand new on a shady used car lot. It presents really well, but the second you drive it off the lot, the wheels fall off.
Third reason: It's a preview to your future there Not one person I know, even those at FAANG companies who have gone through this process would ever want to put another person, let alone a soon to be peer, through this process. It is nerve wracking, stressful, and simply put -- a way for bean counter type roles to justify their existence. We'll generally call these people "do-nothingers". Well, you can't do nothing LITERALLY, so you have to invent something to do -- this tends to be one of those practices. If the company has gotten to that point, rest assured that you're going to have to deal with a lot of shit like this once you land too. Again, people that have been in this industry long enough know this, and so they avoid organizations that do this. So if you want to learn and work with the best, I'd strongly consider the fact that many (obviously not all) are not going to be at that org you're jumping through hoops for.
I'll add more later on, but for now I've gotta jump - hope this was a fun read so far!

2021.12.03 21:59 how-to-eat- Oculus Quest 2 problems in relation to Oculus Link

I bought a Quest two about 2weeks ago and I have had a lot of fun playing and using it. I have bought several steam VR games that my pc runs greatly. The problem comes with the Rift Link or whatever it is through the USB c cable plugged into my computer. I bought a cable off amazon that was 3.1 Mbps and recognized my quest about 40% of the time but did not let me play, didn't recognize it another 50%, and the other 10% I got it to recognize and actually allow me to play games with no problems. I thought it was the cable so I bought a more expensive cable with ""better" specs. Similar problem to the old cable circumstances. 90% of the time I have been able to get the headset recognized with no problems and the other 10% not recognized. Although recognized, only 25% of the time I will be able to get into the gray pcvr land where I can choose games from my library and play some games. I have no problems on the new cable while playing with connectivity when it actually does work while with the first cable it would often disconnect and send me to the quest home and prompt me to reconnect through the Rift technology. I have tried multiple ports, multiple ways of order in which I would plug in the cables with no differences. It is to the point where I am probably going to return my quest.

2021.12.03 21:59 Galderson13 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix Vs 2008 INFINITI G G35x Sedan 4D (Advice needed)

I am choosing between these two. Both are $6500
The Grand Prix: 3.8-liter V6, FWD - has 100k miles on it and a new motor and transmission build.
The G35: V6, 3.5 Liter, AWD - has 200k miles on it.
I am buying from a private party. Both are said to have no mechanical issues, and I have looked at CarFax.
I'm looking for something reliable and fun to drive, that I can hold onto for at least a few years with hopes of not putting a lot more money into it.

2021.12.03 21:59 puciboyy I Saw my Ex again after 2 years and I don't feel content anymore

Technically we were never together but we had strong feelings for each other, she loved me and I liked her. However she was a very toxic individual and my friends really didn't like her. She also didn't have her life together and because of all the time I spent with her, neither did I.
I felt unsatisfied with my life, I really liked the girl but I was so embarrassed by the things she used to say and the way she'd act publicly that I broke it off. Since then I've been doing good, getting good grades, going gym, being healthy ect. But I live on my own and my friends live very far so I been quite lonely for a while and I haven't had an intimate relationship since her.
Recently I ran into her and we caught up. I felt like I had my life together again but when I saw her I felt like I didn't. I felt my emotions resurge when I saw her but straight after seeing her, I've been feeling really depressed and lonely. We talked on the phone multiple times and she's massively improved: healthier relationship with family and friends and she's on top of everything. However she's still toxic and despite her improvements, I know I don't want to be with her because I don't want to put myself down the same rabbit hole.
People find me attractive so I feel like meeting women isn't the hardest thing in the world for me. But I've just never felt the urge, I'll see an attractive girl but not do anything about it. My ex was very attractive.
But why do I feel depressed ever since I saw her despite knowing I still don't want to be with her? I want to see her again but I definitely don't want to be with her

2021.12.03 21:59 pastel_andromeda Anyone else wish for a feature that compiles all your liked songs that aren’t yet added to a playlist?

If Spotify could give me a running list of all the songs I haven’t yet added to a playlist, that would be so convenient…the amount of songs I’ve found in my liked songs that I haven’t heard in so long simply because I haven’t added them to my playlist yet are quite numerous.
Sometimes I like a song just to save it and don’t have the chance to add them to a playlist yet, and then I forget to add them later. Anyone else?
